Does a sky subscriber need a tv licence?

Question

Does a sky subscriber need a tv licence?

Answer

Basically if you watch or record TV programs through whatever means ie. TV, PC etc as they are being shown on TV then you need a license. You do not need a license if you watch a program that was recorded by other means and you watch it after it was broadcast. So things like Youtube, iPlayer, od etc mean you dont need one but you have to prove you dont watch live broadcasts. So all in all, yes a subscriber would need a license to watch sky but if someone was to record it for you and you were to watch the programs after they were broadcast and not in the same house as they were recorded then that would be ok copyright? The link for the Licensing website will explain it.brhttpwww.tvlicensing.co.ukinformationa
