Sorry to tell you that the camera is going to have to go back to Nikon or a Nikon approved workshop. Companies like Nikon have a pretty steep minimum repair cost which can be anything from to brbrIt might be worth taking it into a camera shop to see if they can do anything with it the gearing for the lens might have just got jammed brbrIf you have a warrenty with the camera that would be worth checking out or getting on house insurance brbrbut yeah if a shop cant sort it out your gonna have to tell your dad, sorry
